Fixed-price

Fixed-price MVP development — no scope creep, no surprises

The number on your proposal is the number on your final invoice. Scope agreed up front, complexity-scored, and locked before we start building.

How the model works

Three protections against the classic MVP overrun

Locked scope

Your scope is written into the proposal you sign. If a feature isn't in the proposal, it isn't in the invoice.

Complexity-scored

We assess complexity before the price is set — no ballpark surprises after we open the codebase.

Change requests are quoted first

Any addition mid-project comes as a separate line-item you approve before it happens.

Why time-and-materials contracts fail founders

The economics behind our decision to price flat

An hourly agency has a structural incentive to take longer. Every extra week of "just polishing this one thing" appears on the invoice. Founders discover this on their third or fourth invoice, when the total has drifted well beyond the original conversation.

A flat-price shop has the opposite incentive: finish, deliver, move to the next project. That aligns our motivation with yours. The risk of a scope miss sits with us, not you — which is exactly why we spend real effort on complexity scoring up front, and exactly why the proposal is signed before code starts.

If the fit isn't obvious — if your scope is too ambitious for the timeline, or too vague to price — we'll say so at the scoping stage and offer either a smaller cut or a re-framing. Better a one-day awkward conversation than a four-week disappointment.

FAQ

Fixed-price development — the questions we're asked

What exactly is 'fixed price'?

+

It means the number on your proposal is the number on your invoice. We do the complexity assessment before you commit, agree the scope in writing, and lock the total. If the scope doesn't change, the price doesn't change.

What if I ask for a change halfway through?

+

Any change request is quoted separately as a line-item before work begins. You see the delta before it happens — so you can approve, defer or drop it. Nothing is silently added.

How do you calculate the price?

+

Every project is scored on complexity: number of core entities, integrations, user roles and non-trivial flows. That score is combined with the build package you choose (one-week Speed Build through four-week Premium MVP) to produce a fixed total. You never see the internal formula — just the final locked price.

Are there any hidden costs?

+

No. Third-party services (Stripe fees, hosting after handover, domain registration) are billed by those providers directly, and we tell you which ones apply before you commit. Nothing we invoice for is a surprise.

What's the payment schedule?

+

50% upfront to kick off the build, 50% on delivery. Clients occasionally request installments on larger scopes — we can accommodate on a case-by-case basis.

What if the MVP arrives and I hate it?

+

Every package includes iteration hours specifically because first drafts rarely land perfectly. Two-week and larger packages include senior-developer time to rework problem areas. Beyond that, we're a delivery service — we don't do open-ended retainers, but we will fix anything materially different from what the proposal specified.
